Title: a state of bewilderment
Subtitle: Art for entrails
Blurb/Shorttext:
This book includes a selection of six projects, several of them exhibited in the most prestigious spaces in Cuba, the artist's native country. With self-taught training in the field of visual arts, along with his computer science and piano studies; Adonis Ferro has developed an autonomous transdisciplinary practice, recognized by several specialists as both controversial and disruptive as well as a reference.
"My artistic process is constantly fed by the environment; projects that are defined, more than by a specific medium, by their interrelation with the BEWILDERMENT (DESCONCIERTO) platform: a concept derived from the sensation that the changing and fragmentary nature of life produces in us. I have adopted this term over the last ten years intending to highlight events in both the private and public spheres. That is why many of the BEWILDERMENT (DESCONCIERTOArt ) include diverse fields of knowledge. Sound plays a fundamental role, almost always presented in the form of devices that activate performance. Paintings are the emotional basis of all processes; let's say they represent gestures of an almost always abstract nature, where scale and atmosphere are essential aspects.
Through the work—which includes painting, devices (sculpture, installation), performance,e and video—I am interested in demonstrating a permanent commitment to art's capacity for transformation."
