Title: Scenes From Above

Subtitle: Paintings that explore the natural & raw of everyday life

Scenes From Above is a book of paintings that explores the natural, raw, and abundance in everyday home life and travel — through simplified shapes and colors. Carrow’s paintings are layered with a mixture of mediums used to create translucent fields that harmonize on the canvas. Using layer upon layer of oil paint, chalk pastel, and acrylic paint, a composition is generated. The painting takes form through a process of intuitive flow. This series is an expression of grappling with phantom comforts, taking time to gain perspective and interrupt old patterns by amplifying the scenes from above and below.

Our experiences shift the way we look ahead. Now and after is unlike before. These paintings reflect on what is meaningful and true. A spark of a moment that floats away, fleeting like sound.
