“ECHOES” brings together a set of visual works by Patrícia Abreu, who uses photography as a means to explore concepts of memory, time and constructed realities. An artistic exercise in creating images through technological artifacts, with the aim of inviting the viewer to reflect on the current states of permanence and transience.
Portraying phenomena such as natural light passing through translucent objects to obtain images with supernatural aspects without post-production artifices, sometimes also incorporating error through Glitch Art to reinforce concepts of fragility, vulnerability, ephemerality and artificiality as visual metaphors for our contemporary life.
“ECHOES” reúne um conjunto de obras visuais de Patrícia Abreu, que utiliza a fotografia como meio de explorar conceitos sobre memória, tempo e realidades construídas. Um exercício artístico de criação de imagens através de artefatos tecnológicos, com o objetivo de convidar o espectador a refletir sobre os estados atuais de permanência e transitoriedade. Retratando tanto fenômenos naturais como a luz que atravessa objetos translúcidos para obter imagens com aspectos sobrenaturais sem artifícios de pós-produção, quanto incorporando o erro através da Glitch Art para reforçar conceitos de fragilidade, vulnerabilidade, efemeridade e artificialidade como metáforas visuais para a nossa vida contemporânea.
