Venetian Perspectives by Leonardo Mincolelli
By (author): Leonardo Mincolelli
Title: Venetian Perspectives
Subtitle: Tales of day and night from the Serenissima
Blurb/Shorttext:
The beauty of Venice is outstanding, so much so that it often distracts from life that it hosts. Having lived it both as a tourist and as a resident, I have had the chance to see for myself how differently the two perspectives made me perceive the city. It is my attempt to deliver that perception, from the point of view of an acquired local, to those who may never get to experience it in such way, as Venice becomes less and less accessible, and loses its authenticity. Through the use of various techniques, I try to convey my feelings towards the countless scenic places that my experience as a Venetian has taught me to appreciate, from the beautiful lights reflected on the canals during the calmest nights, to the sad irony of the effects of mass tourism.
