Carrow’s paintings are layered with a mixture of mediums used to create translucent fields that harmonize on the canvas. Using layer upon layer of oil paint, chalk pastel, and acrylic paint, a composition is generated. The painting takes form through a process of intuitive flow. This series is an expression of grappling with phantom comforts, taking time to gain perspective and interrupt old patterns by amplifying the scenes from above and below.
