Homo by David Jester
By (author): David Jester
Title: Homo
Subtitle: Sensuality and survival
Blurb:
Homo is a unifying description for my work. Homo for humanity and honesty. I like reclaiming the word. Much like the word queer, taking ownership of the word Homo embraces who I am and provides the viewpoint of the work.
Ageless Desire. As inevitable as aging is, over time it looks different in individuals and communities. These works are entries into community, sexuality and desire as an aging gay man. The pieces focus on the space where desire and rejection meet, where connection and isolation reside, where age is both empowering and debilitating. Aging and physical decline provide me opportunities to re-evaluate my place in the world; often inspiring me to explore more deeply.
