Diese mystische und geheimnisvolle Insel mußte ich wiedersehen. Eine fünfzigtägige Reise mit gezielt ausgesuchten Reiseschwerpunkten diente neben der Fotografie dazu, persönliche Gespräche mit den Einwohnern zu führen, um etwas über ihre individuelle Lebenssituation zu erfahren. Dazu hatte ich allen dieselbe Frage gestellt: „Warum leben Sie hier?“.
Es war erstaunlich, wie nachdenklich die Befragten darauf reagierten. Diese einfache Frage öffnete Türen und schuf eine Atmosphäre des Vertrauens.
Die Fotos und die Kernaussagen der Erzählungen wurden in diesem Fotobuch zu einer eigenen Geschichte vereint.
Durch leicht abrufbare QR Codes kann darüberhinaus mit diesem Buch auch eine direkte Interaktion mit dem Leser erfolgen. Interviews, kleine Videos und Tonaufzeichnungen nehmen den Leser mit in die multimediale Neuseeland-Welt und machen alles sofort erlebbar.
It has been 14 years since my first trip to New Zealand.
I had to rediscover this mystical and mysterious island again. One of the main aspects of the trip was in-depth conversations with the local community to explore how they felt about their living situation in the region. The purpose was to find out if the high level of satisfaction of the people in the region. Keen to discover the answer, I frequently posed the question: "Why do you live here?"
It was amazing how thoughtfully the respondents reacted to this question. This simple question opened doors and created an air of deep familiarity.
This photo book has created a story from the photos and the essence of the individual narratives.
Short videos and sound recordings can be enjoyed alongside the photographs via an accompanying QR code. These authentic and personal statements create the frame around which the images are set. In combination with landscape photographs, stories of the people of New Zealand also express my way of viewing life and things.
